Legends & Lattes – Travis Baldree

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree

After a lifetime of bounties and bloodshed, Viv is hanging up her sword for the last time. The battle-weary orc aims to start fresh, opening the first ever coffee shop in the city of Thune. But old and new rivals stand in the way of success — not to mention the fact that no one has the faintest idea what coffee actually is.

If Viv wants to put the blade behind her and make her plans a reality, she won’t be able to go it alone.

But the true rewards of the uncharted path are the travelers you meet along the way. And whether drawn together by ancient magic, flaky pastry, or a freshly brewed cup, they may become partners, family, and something deeper than she ever could have dreamed.

Holy Crap. Ok. Where do I even begin? There were so many good things about this!

So this is a really new genre for me to try out. A lot of people are calling this cozy fantasy, and slice of life. Both of which I don’t think I’ve ever read before so this was completely new and I actually really enjoyed it.

Legends & Lattes makes you feel warm, it really does, you feel all cozy and happy, just like a good cup of coffee or tea. It has such great descriptions, great storytelling, you love all the characters (I seriously need more Thimble! I just want a real little Thimble! I need him!) and the message this story brings to life, well, messages rather they’re so great. There’s message of healing, growth, found family, all through the lens of the day-to-day of Liv and the small moments many may not notice.

This book just brings about a wholesomeness that you just need in your life. If you’re looking for just a great story about new beginnings, friendships, healing through change, and just overall how a badass ogre can put down her sword for the comfort of small town life and running her own business…this is for you. I legitimately thought I wouldn’t like this book because I’m so into action packed fantasy and smutty romance, but this was so great. 10/10 would recommend.
