I have a few books that started my love for reading. When I was a kid it’d have to be a tie between Matilda by Roald Dahl and Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. But as I was growing up I didn’t read much through middle school/high school but coming back into reading I have to give credit to Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.
An iconic classic I’ll always love I think, I’ll have to give this one to Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. A true classic that will never get old in my life.
I think the hype around Passenger by Alexandra Bracken as well as Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor had me lose interest in them. I read both of them, but I don’t think I enjoyed them as much as I would, had there been no crippling hype around them.
I feel like I’m going to get a lot of hate for this, but, I’d like to lump all of John Green’s books into this. I just felt like I was reading the same book over and over again, I literally ready 4 of his books and The Fault in Our Stars stood out the most but my goodness Paper Towns and Looking for Alaska felt like the same book to me, I tried reading Will Greyson, Will Greyson but I gave up.
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon is something that literally scares me when I stare at it sitting on my shelf. I have yet to start it but I’ve always wanted to but knowing how big that series is…it’s gonna be a bit before I gather the courage to tackle it.
Pet Semetary by Stephen King. Hands down the scariest book I’ve ever read. And I read it mostly at night for some reason and that was the most stupid thing I’ve ever done. His writing is so consuming and you get thrown into the story and WHAM you’re scared into not sleeping for days.
Oh god, I think my ultimate OTP is Aelin and Rowan from Throne of Glass series. They’re always a a pairing that makes me happy that and Feyre and Rhys. I am trash for OTP pairings I literally cannot get enough, I could keep going : Kaz and Inej , Matthaias and Nina. Literally, I AM TRASH FOR OTPs
Any of the Reckoners Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson were books I sat down and read in one to three sittings. They were such great and action packed reads I needed more.
I don’t think I really know many books that get spin-offs…so I don’t think I can really choose one for this.
OMG Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I had trouble getting into this book and once I started it I couldn’t stop and was very much so surprisingly awesome!
The Lunar Chronicles. There was so much hype around this series, and I’m still working my way through it but my goodness it’s so good! I’m really excited to read Cress and Winter!
This was an easy one. The Puffin in Bloom classics collection. I own A Little Princess in this edition and it’s the most amazing collectors classic book I have, it’s absolutely gorgeous!
Caraval is definitely in one of the top slots for a debut novel I’m super excited for. The premise seems really cool, and I’m pretty sure this book is seriously right up my alley. It comes out January 31st 2017 and it’s by Stephanie Garber.
Sarah J. Maas. That is all. Just kidding! This author is amazing! I got the pleasure of meeting her once and she was absolutely phenomenal. A truly amazing person. Her writing is great and enthralling and really just sucks you in. Action, Romance, Betrayal, Slow Burning at times, her books have it all. Each one of her books being a true work of art.
A Million Worlds With You by Claudia Gray is a book I’ve been looking forward to for what feels like forever. I fell in love with the Firebird trilogy the moment I finished Ten Thousand Pieces of You. Which was the book I read after Ready Player One which kept my momentum going after picking up such a great book, so naturally I’ve been keeping my eye on this series and from the moment I knew this was a trilogy I couldn’t stop thinking about how all of this will conclude.

7 years agoI can feel SJM slowly creeping into my group of auto-buy authors too, hahah. I’ve only read the first two Throne of Glass books so far, but right now I’m reading ACOMAF and I’ve got Heir of Fire waiting in my bookshelf 😁
