I’m a big fan of contemporaries for rainy days, especially contemporaries that can be read in one sitting. So here are my top five rainy day contemporaries.
This is such an outstanding book. With complex characters and a beautifully written story line, I couldn’t put this book down. It’s very thought provoking and keep me glued to each page.
4.To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
It’s hard for me to put my intense love for this book into coherent thoughts. I was so emotionally invested in this story and the characters. I couldn’t put this book down and I finished it in less than two days.
3.All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
This book is beautiful and heartfelt. All the Bright Places has really stood out for me and it’d be a perfect rainy day read.
2.Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
I love this book. It was so surprisingly amazing. The writing is perfect and the characters are wonderful. I read this in one afternoon and I couldn’t put it down.
1.Hey Sunshine by Tia Giacalone
I loved this book so, so much. As soon as I finished it, I wanted to reread it. I loved the plot and the characters. The writing was amazing. I could gush about this book forever.

7 years agoAh, yes, contemporaries are a good complement to a sad, rainy day. :) I would have to second Ari & Dante–a great choice for sure! I’ll also have to remember to pick up All the Bright Places on a rainy day in the future since it’s been on my list for some time now.
