Top Five Wednesday | Top 5 Books of The Year

Top5WednesdayTop 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey on YouTube.

This week’s topic is top 5 books I read this year.  This was a very difficult topic to choose just five. I had a great reading year and I couldn’t have done it without the most wonderful books I’ve read this year. Anyway, with much struggle and thought these are my top five favorite reads of 2015

1. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
My most recently finished read Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. This book was fantastic. The adventure, the characters, scenery. All aspects of this book was absolutely amazing. I felt individually connected to all six characters. This book was such a great read, highly recommend it if you haven’t picked it up yet.

2. Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson
This book was action packed and never a dull moment. What if super heroes were actually evil? It’s such a great premise for a book, and looking forward to finishing up the sequel and waiting for the concluding novel in 2016

3. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
If you haven’t started Throne of Glass, please do so. The fourth book in the series, these books just keep getting better and better. I couldn’t ask for a more amazing fantasy series.

4. The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
I was a bit wary of picking up The Bone Season at first, but when I truly began to dive into this book the plot, world, and all around character building was so great. It kept me engaged throughout and I literally couldn’t put it down. The Mime Order is out which is the sequel to The Bone Season and I plan on reading it as soon as I can.

5. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
This was the one contemporary book that absolutely blew me away this year. This book was an absolute work of art. And I cannot even describe how satisfied I was reading this book. Nicola Yoon did a GREAT job writing this and I devoured it in a day!

These were my top 5 reads of 2015. I really hard list to narrow down out of 60 books but I did it! What were your favorite reads of this year? and what do you look forward to reading in 2016?!

Oh my goodness, they’re absolutely amazing. I read Everything, Everything in one sitting. It isn’t too long and really easy to breeze through, definitely gave me hope for contemporary books in 2016.
