FAVORITE FIREPLACE READS | TOP FIVE WEDNESDAY
Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey on YouTube.
This week’s Top 5 Wednesday topic is favorite books to read by the fireplace. Seeing as it’s mid December you’d think Massachusetts would be filled with cozy fireplaces but alas we’re in some weird heat wave. But none the less, this is my top five favorite reads for sitting next to the fireplace. I don’t really read by the fireplace but, here are five books I’ve partially read/would want to read by the fire.
1. The Ocean at The End of The Lane by Neil Gaiman
So I read this in January and it was a really whismical and cozy read. The book is set in England which is always or mostly dreary and cold which always makes me want to snuggle up next to a fire.
2. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
I read ACOTAR in the spring when it was released. So I couldn’t read it by the fire but this book is set …in winter? Okay well Fayre lives in a village and it was winter at some point but the pure fact that it’s a Beauty and The Beast retelling makes me always want to read it by the fire.
3. The Young Elites by Marie Lu
I started reading this book by the window as it was snowing. I LOVED this book so much. The adventure was amazing especially sitting next to the fire.
4. A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Grey
A Thousand Pieces of You is awesome. Parallel universes. One being set in Russia. The cold atmosphere making me long for a fire, was awesome to read next to a fireplace.
5. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
THIS BOOK IS AWESOME. I LOVE IT. AND THE PARALLEL UNIVERSES OF LONDON ARE EVEN BETTER NEXT TO A FIRE. I CAN’T EVEN EXPLAIN HOW AMAZING THIS WAS TO READ NEXT TO A NICE WARM FIRE. The End.

8 years agoI totally agree that we should always write about A Darker Shade of Magic in ALL CAPS. That way we might get closer to truly expressing how fantastic it is. Can’t wait for the sequel! Not long until Feb now :-)

8 years agoI know! I’m so excited. I devoured ADSOM. And I NEED the sequel. Like I needed it yesterday to keep my sanity. Every time someone asks me for a recommendation I ALWAYS recommend that book. It’s like a masterpiece.

8 years agoHooray! I’ve found someone I can ramble about A Gathering of Shadows to in February. Love Kell. Need more Rhys. And Lila is very cool. Can’t wait!

8 years agoI find myself disliking female characters a lot and I actually liked Lila so that was a big plus for me. And YES YES YES MORE RHYS.
