This week’s topic for Top 5 Wednesday is Top Hunger Games Moments. Now, as some of you have seen on Goodreads (or soon enough) I just finished Mockingjay. I have to say that Hunger Games isn’t my favorite. After the first book, I pretty much lost interest, but there were still some really good parts of the series:

volunteerKatniss Volunteers for Prim.

I have to say that this was obviously a pivotal moment in the book, but when they adapted the book to movie, this was such a strong acted scene. Although acted, it’s almost like Katniss pulled through heartstrings almost anyone could feel. This is the reaction any sibling would have if they got reaped. And I think that’s why this is one of the top five moments. It’s the beginning of the whole plot and series as well as just an emotionally gripping scene in the book and in the movie.

cinna

Cinna

God Bless Cinna and Lenny Kravitz.  I see Cinna as the true flame that kept Katniss going. Prim yes was the underlying thing that keeps Katniss going but it always comes down to when Prim is in danger. But Cinna was the one from day 1 who didn’t even have to TRULY know Katniss to know that she was going to be a rebel leader. The face of the rebellion. He knew she was going to change the world.

finnick

Finnick and Annie’s Wedding

I enjoyed this part of the books. It was kind of the beacon of hope amidst the most awful times that any of them have endured. I also think that Finnick is one of the most deserving people of this happiness. Losing Mags in the last games, the way he cared for her and everything he endured. Not thinking he’d see Annie ever again. I just think this was one of the most perfect things in the whole series.

nightlock

Seneca Crane and the Nightlock.

THE BIGGEST F**CK YOU IN ALL OF MOVIE HISTORY. Okay, maybe not, like THE BIGGEST but…damn it was a good one.

coin

President Coin and the Last Hunger Games

I think Coin’s last idea of hosting a final hunger games using the captiol’s children is an AMAZING part of the series. As much as I hated Coin, I thought this idea and what not brought up a great thinking point in the book, it was an awesome time to truly think about what you would do in a situation like that, and if you truly understood Katniss throughout the books.
