Top Books with Mental Health/Illness | Top 5 Wednesday

As you might have noticed, it’s not Wednesday. It’s Saturday. But I was very busy this week and didn’t have time to post on Wednesday. Or Thursday. Or Friday. But I have time now and I really  wanted to do this week’s topic of Books with mental health/illness. I think book that deal with mental health/illness, especially YA books, are extremely important and I really love how many book there are that have characters that have mental health/illness. And also how many of these books are popular and so many people are reading them.

5) All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

All the Bright Places has a character that has depression and while I have some mixed feelings on this book, I still think it’s a really good read.

4) The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley by Shaun David Hutchinson

I found this book a little difficult to get though just because it made me really sad but it’s worth reading.

3) Fault Line by Christa Desir

Fault Line is incredibly dark and heartbreaking but it’s worth a read.

2) Random by Tom Leveen 

This book also has a character with depression. I think Random takes a very, very serious issue and makes it easier to understand and brings a lot of good questions and points up. Tom Leveen did a perfect job writing this story.

1) Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick  

This book is about a boy names Leonard who decides to bring a gun to school to kill his former best friend and then himself. It’s one of the most amazing books that I’ve ever read and I highly recommend reading it.
