I didn’t realize until the last few days of this month but I stuck in a horrible reading slump for 99% of August. I think I read so much this whole year that I just burned out. Pair that with not having a lot of time to read, I found a million excuses to not read this month. I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t read all the books that I wanted this month but I feel like taking most of a month off from reading as rejuvenated my reading. I’m very excited to tackle my TBR next month! So here’s what I did read for the month of August.
9 Books
Seriously Mum, What’s an Alpaca? by Alan Parks – 3/5 stars
Hunter by Mercedes Lackey – DNF (But I plan on re-reading)
Alive by Scott Sigler – 5/5 stars
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff – 4/5 stars
Rust: The Longest War by Jonathan Waldman – 3/5 stars
Soul Corrupted by Lisa Gail Green – 2.5/5 stars
Tales from the Back Row by Amy Odell – 3.5/5 stars
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo – 4/5 stars
Frostbite by Lynn Rush – 2/5 stars
3 Graphic Novels
Young Terrorists, Volume 1: Pierce The Veil by Matt Pizzolo, Amancay Nahuelpan – 4/5 stars
The Fox by Frédéric Brrémaud, Federico Bertolucci – 5/5 stars
Tabatha by Neil Gibson, Caspar Wijngaard – 2/5 stars

8 years agoOMG You’re going to LOVE Crown of Midnight. So many books on your lists I have yet to get to. I’ll be picking up the Mistborn trilogy hopefully in November or December. My wrap up will be up soon!

8 years agoI know exactly how you feel about reading so much that you just feel burned out from it. I actually think that is what is going on with me and why most of the books I’ve read in August I didn’t really enjoy that much. I think I just need a little break from reading so much and hopefully it’ll get me back into loving my books more!
The 9 you did read sound really great though! I am really looking forward to reading Alive, Siege and Storm, and Illuminae.

8 years agoLiked your “Rust” review. And your hair.
If you haven’t the “Saga” graphic-novel series by Vaughan & someone female — well, you should.
