Recommendation Friday! #8

rec friday

It’s Friday and you all know what that means! Recommendation Friday!
And I have a feeling you fantasy lovers out there will appreciate this one.

This week’s recommendation from me has to be the lovely high fantasy book of:
May Book of The Month Giveaway“>FALLING KINGDOMS by MORGAN RHODES.

12954620

Synopsis: “In the three kingdoms of Mytica, magic has long been forgotten. And while hard-won peace has reigned for centuries, a deadly unrest now simmers below the surface.

As the rulers of each kingdom grapple for power, the lives of their subjects are brutally transformed… and four key players, royals and rebels alike, find their fates forever intertwined. Cleo, Jonas, Lucia, and Magnus are caught in a dizzying world of treacherous betrayals, shocking murders, secret alliances, and even unforeseen love.

The only outcome that’s certain is that kingdoms will fall. Who will emerge triumphant when all they know has collapsed?

It’s the eve of war…. Choose your side.

Princess: Raised in pampered luxury, Cleo must now embark on a rough and treacherous journey into enemy territory in search of magic long thought extinct.

Rebel: Jonas, enraged at injustice, lashes out against the forces of oppression that have kept his country cruelly impoverished. To his shock, he finds himself the leader of a people’s revolution centuries in the making.

Sorceress: Lucia, adopted at birth into the royal family, discovers the truth about her pastโ€”and the supernatural legacy she is destined to wield.

Heir: Bred for aggression and trained to conquer, firstborn son Magnus begins to realise that the heart can be more lethal than the sword…”

So this was the first book I read in attempts to get back into fantasy reading. A bit of a jump, I know but I couldn’t help it. The synopsis drew me in and the cover was just to die for! So I loved this book, I loved the three kingdoms and the story that made them what they where currently. I loved the perspectives and how amazingly written, well thought out, well executed this book was.

So I love this book because of the perspectives and how all these characters intertwine in the fact that they’re all on these different journeys so to speak but they’re all basically searching for almost similar things/ things that intertwine these stories even more. ย I also loved all the politics involved between these three kingdoms. I just had to keep reading more.

I’m SO SO SO excited to keep going with this series. It’s supposed to be six books long! Rebel Spring is probably a book I’ll be reading next month to continue on with this epic adventure. If you’re looking for something similar to Game of Thrones (obviously not to that extent) I would most definitely pick this up. Clearly this book won’t be at the same standing as GoT, it’s still pretty damn good. Also, Gathering Darkness has already been released and Frozen Tides is coming out at the end of 2015
